Welcome, Paul Eyles Cauffman!

We were starting to get just a bit impatient, but it turned out to be well worth the wait. Paul Eyles Cauffman arrived just one day later than expected, in fine form. Seven pounds, nine ounces, and 20.5 inches, he slipped gently into the world with a minimum of fuss at two minutes to three in the afternoon, sliding right into Dad's waiting hands. He's named for both his grandfather (Beth's father) and his great-grandfather (Steve's paternal grandfather). He spent the rest of the day sleeping, pretty much. Biding his time, gathering strength, planning his next move...

Be sure to take a look at photos of Paul's first day.

Rush Show Euphoria

A definite high point of the year, so far [ed. note: subsequently surpassed by 10/29/07...]: front row tickets to see Rush at Shoreline. At face value, no less. Purchased from the ticket office, no less. An hour before the show, no less. Who knew things worked this way? Well, my friend Kevin, apparently. Phenominal show. Go see 'em. They're better than ever.

My only question: if you're driving into the past, how can history be receding in the rear-view mirror?

Lainey in Japan

Selected photos from our whirlwind tour of Japan are now available for viewing.

Welcome

Cauffman.net is going through a major overhaul. Please be patient, and if you can't find something that was here before, just drop me a line. The new bloggish format is courtesy of blogger.com, and the photo albums are being transitioned to Google's Picasaweb. In theory, this should make it easier for me to keep things more current. (Of course, as Yogi put it, "In theory there's no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.") Anyway, welcome to Cauffman.net. Come on in and have a byte.
